Adult Mission Trips
KENTUCKY SUMMER MISSION
McCreary County / Rattlesnake Ridge
This will be our 4th summer working with Jim Cmolik and “Hills & Hollers Ministries” to minister to the needs of residents of this county – one of the 20 poorest in the nation.
Projects will include: Repair Construction on an Appalachian rural home, VBS on Rattlesnake Ridge, stocking Thrift Store with supplies from NRM and more. We need a large construction crew to accomplish the project we’ll do. And as always, a great VBS Team will be in place to work with all the children on the “Ridge”.
We will stay in a very nice and spacious “missions center” in Whitley City, KY. Dorothy Petty (& team) has already agreed to provide delicious home-cooked meals. Cost for the week-long trip will be $235 including transportation, lodging, meals and treats.
Please call Hal at 787-3740 or email him at hmelton@tbcraleigh.com to sign up today. Don’t wait!
Belize Summer Mission
VBS, Dental Clinic, Revival
This will be our third trip to the village of St. Margaret, partnering with Lagoon Road Baptist Church. They are a new church start, only 4 years old, and the only English speaking church in the village. Co-bi-vocational pastors Ed and Modesto have done a wonderful job in growing this congregation to around 90 in attendance on Sunday mornings. But there are many more people in St. Margaret as well as two more near by villages.
When we met them in early 2009, they were meeting in one large room – their sanctuary, and a temporary room made by building a wall behind the pulpit for the children. Trinity has now assisted them financially and physically to build four large Sunday School class rooms for children and youth as well as two restrooms (they were using an outhouse).
Continuing to follow God’s lead, it is now time to involve a different kind of team in this partnership… one that will reach out to the community to share the Gospel through a four day Vacation Bible School with 150 children, and through a five evening revival with Dr. Roberts as the preacher. Obviously this must be a large mission team of at least 30 adults age 18 and above.
Rhonda Gubbins will be our mission VBS director, and has already gotten the curriculum materials that we need. We would also love to be able to create a worship choir out of the folks doing the VBS for the evening revival services. In addition, we are attempting to recruit at least one dentist and several assistants/hygienists to do a dental clinic for the village. We actually have use of a fully equipped dental trailer for this purpose – all we need are volunteers.
Cost for this trip (assuming air fares do not increase dramatically) will be around $1,200 per person including air and ground transportation, food, and insurance. You will need a passport, but no visa is required. Several vaccinations are also an expense that is additional.
If you are interested, please contact Rev. Melton at 787-3740 or hmelton@tbcraleigh.com OR Rhonda Gubbins at rgubbins@nc.rr.com . Deadline for signing up is April 25.
Camp Inlow

NM Baptist Girls Camp damaged in forest fires last summer. We will go out and stay at the camp and work on refurbishing an old lodge into usable dormitory space. This is in response to a call by the New Mexico Baptist Convention’s WMU for assistance. Can take as many as 30 on this trip. Open to male and female. Work will include framing new walls, installing doors, hanging/ taping and mudding sheet rock, roughing in electrical and plumbing, and painting. Contact Hal to sign up!
One more thing: the camp has a full-hookup campground that can be used free by workers with motor homes coming to work.
2 days are set aside during this trip for site seeing out west.
